A QUIET WEEK...

A very quiet working week from me this week ~ I got some cabochons cut and fired, a pendant finished and wired up, but not a great deal more in the way of glass work.
It was just one of "those" weeks as far as work was concerned!  The absolutely hideous weather didn't help much either I might add.

As you may know I've been playing with beads of a night after dinner and trying to teach myself a few new things.
This bracelet got finished last night while I was sort of watching the footy.
I struggled big time with the weave that makes up the base of this and then, with a lot of help from some Facebook friends and a lot of ripping out and swearing ~ all of a sudden it just clicked.  I was one happy little vegemite!!!
175 Swarovski crystals later and some very tiny seed beads it was done.

Seems like I was on a bit of a purple streak ~ these are a group of cabs for an order.  A very unusual colour combination in the glass but I love it!!

And lastly a wreath pendant (also an order) wired up with 14kt rose gold filled wire. It's such a pretty colour, I think much nicer than yellow gold.

I did have some absolutely fantastic news though ~ I entered a blog competition by Karen from Skunk Hill Studio.  The first prize was this brilliant book she has written on freeform beading and a kit to make one of her awesome bracelets.  YAY!!! Doing the happy dance ~ yes I won it and my kit is on it's way across the big pond as we speak.  More fun to be had!!!!   :^)  :^)

OK ~ back to making dinner for me ~ have a fantabulous week everyone!!!! CYA.......

ORDERS & OTHERS...

OK ~ totally my fault for not checking in and posting for so long, but they're changed it on me again!!  It took me nearly half an hour just to find where to write!! Hopeless!!  Now I'll have to see if posting pictures works the same way it did......**No it doesn't!! I just lost everything twice over!!  grrrrrrrrrrrr.......

I have finally managed to get some new pendants together.  They've been sitting, waiting to be finished while I've been off with the pixies.  I have been busy doing stuff though ;)

The first six of these pictures are orders and then the others are stock that will possibly go to Artfire.

If you see something that catches your eye, just shoot me off a message and I can give you the info as to whether it's available or not.

NEWEST PENDANTS AND CABS...

Rather belatedly I have some more pendants and cabs that have been finished.

I got majorly sidetracked this week getting an order ready for a gallery in Victoria. It had to be there before Easter and I really had my doubts as to whether I could or not. I am most pleased to say I did it, it arrived in time and my first piece sold pretty well as it was being unpacked. Pretty happy with that!!
If I can get a clear run this afternoon doing photos, there will be some more cabs coming.

These pendants have been wired up using Argentium silver, some copper and one bronze.

With these cabs, I think a few will end up having bails added to them and I will then add them to my Artfire studio. These ones have the screen printed decals fired into the glass.

A few of these cabs will probably also have bails added in the coming days.

I hope everyone is having a lovely holiday weekend!!
HAPPY EASTER :^)

NEW WIRED PENDANTS, NEW CABS...

These are some of the pendants from the other week that I sat down and had a bit of a play with.
All wrapped in Argentium sterling silver, two have the addition of stunning little metallic faceted rondelle beads.

And here sees me playing with new techniques again. The first picture is what happens when things don't go to plan ~ dichroic poo!! They looked awful!
Gary has always said you can't make strawberry jam from pig sh*t, but in this instance I beg to differ!! LOL.
The second picture is the first of the refiring ~ aiming for a major resurrection. Two more firings, a bit more glass and the cabs in the following pictures are some of the results. I have more done now, just waiting on good light to get some more pictures.

Now I'm off to list a few pendants in my Artfire studio and then back to the pliers :^)
