WEEK 25

Definitely not on theme again, and probably one of the worst photos I've ever taken! I will re-do this picture, but at the moment I'm a bit p***ed off with the whole ordeal - I've been at it for about 2 hours!
But at least this necklace is finally finished.
This started life as just the tassel from my week 6 piece.
It has gone thru about 3 incarnations to get to here.
This necklace is looooong.
The tassel hangs just below the bottom of where my bra sits. But that was totally my intention. It is meant to be worn with a long black jumper and skirt that I have.
A LOT of sterling wire, Swarovski crystals in siam, light siam, crytal AB and vitrail medium. Not too sure how many there are - but at last count it was over 300!
I love this necklace - it looks awesome on - it's just an absolute mongrel to try and photograph....lol.

NEW DICHRO

WEEK 24

For a couple of weeks I've been having provider issues, now it looks like I'm having computer issues - GGGRRR :^(
Had a helluva time just trying to get this blasted thing started - maybe it doesn't like the cold weather much either!
The great news is a HEAP of the copper I was waiting on HAS FINALLY ARRIVED !! YAHOO!!! It took me the better part of 5 hours to get it up on my vShop, but it's done and that's the main thing :^)
OK, on to this week's piece. Seeing how I now have all these gorgeous copper beady bits at my disposal I thought I'd better make something using a few bits of 'em.
I haven't decided whether this will be 1/2 of a pair of earrings (if they are I will use niobium ear-wires), or if I will use this in a necklace somehow - the jury's still out on that one. I'm leaning towards a necklace.
As you can see, it's all copper. A chandelier finding, little daisy spacers and granulated headpins. Put together with 22 and 26 gauge wire. Throw in some Czech fire-polished beads in a beautiful teal colour, some seedies to co-ordinate and that's it.

This week has seen me playing with a bit more glass too, a repeat of something I did ages ago (my Goddess) and an experimental piece using some new glass and twisties I have. I'm really happy with how the rectangle came out - in real life it just glows and am definitely going to play some more with these colours. Not the best pictures in the world, but I'm working on that.

WEEK 23

I'm not on theme this week, nowhere even close - but hey I can live with that :^)
These earrings came about by a happy accident. I was sitting watching TV and had a scrap of 30g. wire and a pencil in my hand (as you do....lol). I wasn't really concentrating and was just fiddling and lo and behold this idea sort of just evolved.
These truly are "scrap" earrings.
I have lots of short offcuts of 28g. wire that has gone from being soft to half-hard as a result of me weaving or coiling or whatever. So, that's what these are made with. I've used 4mm sterling beads in the connecting links.
I'm quite happy with how these worked and am thinking the little coiled circles will have heaps of other uses too.

ON THEIR WAY....

HOORAY!!! After a lot of mucking around and misunderstandings, the new stock for my vShop is finally on its merry little way. Some of it is on a slow boat to China, but the majority of it should be here early next week (fingers crossed). I'm hoping to get it listed by next weekend, then what's on offer at Copper-Magik should look a lot more interesting. Heaps of beads, bead-caps, clasps and findings - it's almost better than Xmas :^)
These pictures are only some of what is expected in the first lot - there's a heap more in the 2 shipments due after that.
WHOO HOO~!!! How excitement!!! :^)

WEEK 22

This is one of those weeks that, if you use your imagination, I'm sort of on theme.
It's big (for a ring) and it's blue (in places).
I decided to finally have a go at Eni's square cab ring.
This is one of my all-time favourite pieces that Eni has made and as soon as I knew the tute was available I had to have it!!
I've had it since it first appeared and this is the first time I've had a chance to play with it.
This is a bit rough and ready, but it was a good learning experience :^)
I know where I mucked up, so I know where it needs improvement.
After I got started, it was quite an easy piece to make, so I will definitely have another shot (or 10) at it!!
I'm just waiting on some more glass to arrive from the U.S. so I can make some more cabs that will be suitable.
