WEEK 4 - FAERIE WINGS

This is not quite where I intended to take this week's theme as a couple of pages of drawings would attest to... Oh well, there's always another week :^)
A tiny bit of imagination has to be brought into play here - this is my faerie's wings - viewed side-on!
At the moment it is only a pendant, but future weeks may see it develop into something more (?) - who knows?
The frame is made from 18G sterling, soldered in 4 spots & with balled-up ends plus a fair bit of hammering.
Capri blue and crystal copper Swaros have been wired into place with 26G wire. The squiggly bit down the centre and the LHS is done with 28G.

WEEK 3 - TAKE FLIGHT

I couldn't for the life of me think of anything except butterflies this week. So this is it!
I made the chain section first with twisted square 20G wire joined with 6mm jump rings. The dangly bits in the front are left-over odds and ends of 5 different chains that I had laying around and in themselves not really long enough to do much with. 4 different colours of Swaros and these way cute Swaro butterflies. Sorry that you can't see them all that well in this picture - it didn't want to co-operate!!
Anyway, in real life - this is quite "pretty" and actually looks quite good on.

This is a pendant made from some of the molten "blobs" from last week.

And this is just fiddling around, balling up fine silver.
The dangle is a Swaro heart in heliotrope - I seriously LOVE this colour!

WEEK 2 - KISSES IN THE MIST

This week's theme for me was going to be "hugs and kisses", but we had a few hiccups along the way. It was one of those things that in theory worked fine - but not in real life!!
Anyway - a lot of molten silver blobs later - this is what I have this week.
The "kisses", the "y" shaped pendant part , the "s" links at the back and the clasp are all fine silver.
Swarovski pearls and crystals complete the picture.
All the rest of the wire is 20G sterling silver.

Close-up of one of the connectors.

JUST PLAYING :^)

Just a few pendants done recently, some just playing, some for orders.

WEEK 1 - MORNING ZEPHYR

Here is my first piece for the new year of jewelry. Amazingly enough, I'm on time and on theme.
I'm quite happy with how this turned out, considering I had to make a few "judgement calls" along the way.
The centre section with the little swirly wind bits is 16g - soldered and hammered into a slight curve and then wrapped with a heap of 26g wire. It measures about 1" x 1 1/2".
The beady bits are carnelians - facetted, big chunky ones and plain round 6mm ones - sort of like the colour the sun rises here some mornings :^)

Also this week I had a play with a couple of bangles. This was my first time doing this type of work and I'm pretty pleased with how they worked.

This one is using a hand-made lampwork bead by Nicole Sinai and some small boro drop beads from the U.S. All sterling silver.
I did a swap with Nicole and scored some gorgeous beads, so you'll be seeing more of those in coming weeks.

And this one is using Chinese lampwork in combination with the silver.
