JUST A WEE BIT THIS WEEK!!

After a huge weekend last week, we've both come down with the dreaded lurgy!!
We sound like the seals across the water at Seaworld barking our heads off!
Needless to say, I haven't gotten much done this week.

I've gone back to playing with dimensional pieces. I'm pretty happy with how these 3 came out and have lots of ideas for more in a similar vein :^)
The first one is a brooch/pin and the other 2 with raised-up bits are pendants.

A LITTLE BIT OF GLASS...

Not heaps happening here this week - we have a house full of visitors - bodies camped everywhere for Indy! 'Tis a bit squashy :^)

Week 41

Well, I may not be on theme (yet again) but I think I made it on time (??)

This is one of three identical pieces I'm doing at the moment for a friend's bridesmaids. All Swarovski crystal and sterling silver.
There are also 3 pairs of earrings that match the dangly bit at the bottom of the pendant. They're not quite finished yet.
Some of you may remember the wedding necklace I did ages ago for FSOJ with the spiraled Murano glass drop as the centrepiece. Well, these are to co-ordinate with that :^) I've added another picture of that one at the bottom of this post..
The wired up bunches of crystals and pearls are picks to go in the bride's bouquet.
I find it very difficult to photograph Swaros with silver for some reason (??) These pieces are really very pretty in real life.

WEEK 40

If you scroll down a bit further you will see the piece I am posting for this week.
Other than glass, a pair of earrings last week & adding ends and clasps to leather - I have done absolutely no jewellery at all since I finished this necklace. You can't really count ends on leather necklaces as making something!!

CARNIVAL.............

Over on the crystal and chain news forum - on the JewelsbyJewls site, they recently ran a competition. The theme was CARNIVAL.
Below are the pictures of my entry for this competition.
It was voted on by the members of the group.
I AM ABSOLUTELY OVER THE MOON TO SAY I WON 1ST PLACE!!!!
This competition was sooooooo much fun to do - and an awesome theme to work to!!!!

EVOLUTION OF A NECKLACE.....

A friend of mine suggested I post this - so you could share how my "carnival" piece came into being. So, here it is :^)

on track & almost there!!!! Just a few more wrapped loops, more fine wire wrapping and and a LOT of fiddly little jump ring critters!!!!

WEEK 39

Late again :^(
I've had an absolutely crazy week, trying to get a competition piece finished in time, trying to get orders done - I'm not complaining - it's all good!!! Just busy :^)

This is the first time I've attempted to do these ring things - flower/mobius whatever you like to call them. They look a bit rugged - they were flush cut rings not sawn ones.
Nonetheless, I am really happy with how they turned out.
I love the (dyed) ruby jade beads hanging from the bottom of these - they almost look like vintage beads.
This photo is as they have come straight from the tumbler - I'm keeping these for me and YES - they will be LOS'd.
