WEEK 30

Salsa/ spicy - well I finally managed to hit one of the themes...lol. AND, it's not dichro!
A combination of hyacinth, light siam & siam swaros.
These are left over bits and pieces from when I was working on my recent competition piece.
A simple little bracelet, that feels lovely on and actually sits right - bonus!!
The front section is a 3 strand braid using 4mm crystals, the chain bits also using 4mm and the big clunkers on the back are 8mm.

eBay THIS WEEK.

These are this week's offerings for eBay. There were supposed to be 6, but one is floating around in the ether somewhere!! Don't know what happened - it just disappeared! That's alright though, at least I have a head start on next week :^)
The piece below on the left is my first ever go at etching dichro - definitely going to do more - WAAAAY fun to do.
And the blue triangle is my favourite ever colour glass - I just love this blue - it's magic!!
It's such a shame it's really, really hard to get a good piccie of :^(

WEEK 29

Not on theme - yet again :^)

My life is a little bit consumed with making glass bits and pieces at the moment...lol.
I got the best ever birthday present this week - "he who must be obeyed" didn't know what to give me this year, so he suggested $$$$ into my paypal account so I could get what I wanted. YAHOO!!! I had a field day! I managed to demolish it AND a bit more in about 30 mins.
Very shortly (when it all arrives) I will have enough glass to sink a battleship!!
I can't wait to start playing some more!!!
I have a kazillion ideas for different shapes & techniques to try!!

Anyway, this is my piece for this week. I wanted a pendant to go with a pair of earrings I made in week 8. This is it.
Hammered spiral dangles a la Lisa Niven Kelly, a tiny fire-polished amethyst coloured rondelle, the (at the moment) obligatory bit of glass and a new way (for me) to attach the fired-in silver loop to a leather cord.
All in all I'm quite happy with how this came out :^)

MORE DICHRO FOR EBAY

6 more pieces to be listed tomorrow morning - this is them :^)
Although I think I will have to try to re-photograph 2 of them - the colours just aren't there like they are IRL.

WEEK 28

This week is an "off-theme" one for me.
The closest I came to making jewellery was doing bails, a few spirals & ends for leather for some dichro I have up on eBay this week, which for some strange reason is taking forever to get up on their site :^(

On a brighter note though, I finally got a cross shape to work without blowing out too much in the kiln and I made this other U-beaut pendant I absolutely love :^)
So, at least I accomplished "something"...lol.

WEEK 27 - FLAMES OF PASSION

Or at least it will be when it's finished!

I've run out of 18gauge wire and won't have anymore until tomorrow or the next day :^(
So I am posting what I have done to date.

Basically it is a gorgeous boro pendant - that I thought would be perfect for this week - on a 16g hammered framework which I've wrapped with 26g sterling.
The "chain" that it will be hanging from is all 18g. swirly bits and bars (also wrapped with 26g). Thrown in every now and then are 8mm fireopal swaros and some bali silver spacers.
Once I finish the chain, LOS and tumble it - I will add a new photo.

WEEK 26

Well, here we are at the last week of the second quarter :^) Doesn't time fly?
And I think I've just scraped in on time....
Yet again, not on theme - I will make a more concerted effort next quarter - well, I'll try!!!

My piece for this week is a bangle I actually made for myself.
I have quite a few of these Bali silver bangles with the screw -on ends and thought this might be just a bit different and a bit of fun :^)

Other than the bangle I used as the basis for this, there is about 28 feet of 26 gauge sterling wire and the tiny little swaros are 3mm Bermuda blue critters.
The finished bangle is very heavily LOS'd 'coz I ran out of steel wool - but that's OK - I've well and truly been converted thanks to someone who shall remain nameless!!! (but we all know who that is - don't we Angie?...LOL) This looked just like tinsel for the Christmas tree before I gave it a dunking!

DICHRO ON EBAY...

Well, I've bitten the bullet and posted 4 pieces this morning on Ebay.

A total Ebay virgin!! Fingers are crossed XX XX
Hopefully it will be kind to me :^)
I'll know in a week!!
