WEEK 17 - FISHIN'

I managed to stay on theme this week :^)
Scary Sharks or Friendly Dolphins didn't really rock my boat, so I decided to go with Fishin'.
I have absolutely no idea what the fish focal is carved out of, but he was perfect for this week. I actually bought a pair to use as earrings, but the holes in my ears would end up ginormous - these little guys weight quite a bit.
I have caught him on a 16gauge hammered hook.
The rest of the necklace is strung with messy little tangled up "fishing line" sterling beads, some absolutely gorgeous pottery beads I bought a couple of weeks ago, black lava beads and matsuno seedies.

WEEK 16 - RIPPLES, DEPTHS & SHALLOWS

I thought this week I had just managed the depths and shallows part of the theme with my ocean coloured dichro pendant & then as I was uploading it I realised that I had gotten the ripples as well with the wire. DOH!!
More of my dichro, this one measures about 1" across. As usual this is MUCH more vibrant in real life.
The knitting is done with 24 gauge and the bail is 18 gauge.
I have suspended this on braided black leather.

WEEK 15 - SEAFOAM, ROLLING WAVES.

I didn't really think I was going to be on theme this week, but I guess I kinda fluked this one :^)
I've been thinking I need to use some of the bits and pieces I've been saving.
Saving for what? Not too sure really...lol.
This necklace has been made with 19gauge square sterling wire, some funny little drop boro beads that were part of a prize from a competition I won a while ago and a really interesting boro glass pendant I bought about a year ago.

and this one is a pretty bad picture, but it gives a better idea of the proportion of the piece.

WEEK 14 - APRIL SHOWERS

This week's theme was inspired by a rhyme from many moons ago - "April showers bring May flowers".
Another pair of earrings from me this week, using the left-over forged bits from my "stormy weather" piece, some 3mm sterling beads, Swarovski flowers and drops and of course silver wire.
So now, instead of the silver bolts of lightning, just imagine they're raindrops snaking their way down a window pane..lol..
The picture really doesn't do these earrings justice, they sparkle in the sunlight and have great movement.

WEEK 13 - FLOATING DANDELION

Well, here we are - Week 13 - WOW!!! I can't believe how fast it has come around.

A simple pair of earrings from me this week - fine silver, PMC, butter jade and a couple of tiny topaz swaros.
