WEEK 1 - MORNING ZEPHYR

Here is my first piece for the new year of jewelry. Amazingly enough, I'm on time and on theme.
I'm quite happy with how this turned out, considering I had to make a few "judgement calls" along the way.
The centre section with the little swirly wind bits is 16g - soldered and hammered into a slight curve and then wrapped with a heap of 26g wire. It measures about 1" x 1 1/2".
The beady bits are carnelians - facetted, big chunky ones and plain round 6mm ones - sort of like the colour the sun rises here some mornings :^)

Also this week I had a play with a couple of bangles. This was my first time doing this type of work and I'm pretty pleased with how they worked.

This one is using a hand-made lampwork bead by Nicole Sinai and some small boro drop beads from the U.S. All sterling silver.
I did a swap with Nicole and scored some gorgeous beads, so you'll be seeing more of those in coming weeks.

And this one is using Chinese lampwork in combination with the silver.
